I begin with dessert!

Here is Ustadzah Salwah's adorable sisters, making me ligamat, also known as Zalabia. Donuts to you and me!

I was so busy eating I didnt photograph them, so here's some I had later,

In Khartoum with Shay bi laban bi Ginzabeel (Tea with milk and ginger)

Gorrassa - a kind of pancake made with flour and yeast.

This one is smothered in home made butter and sugar. 

But is usually eaten as a savoury carb. with gravey.

Fatoor - Breakfast

Accompanied with Seesam - Sesame oil, Shutta - Chillie is the green stuff on the other plate with Melikh - salt.

This is eaten every if not most days.

Asida -  made up of a cooked wheat flour.

A sort of mash substance which is eaten with gravey.

Very filling!

Friday feast of stuffed peppers & tomatoes,

Pizza, Kisra another pan cake style from sour doh

and Mulah Warig - very green plant with meat.

Sardines with Jibna - cheese, tomato and onions.

Lentils with potato chips and the standard shutta!

Bitzza! Everything foreign is served with ketchup!

Here I'm learning how to make Omdagoga...

which is mince meat, tomato, dried onions and wakka - dried okra

 Ustadza Salwa and her sisters cooked us a feast of nile fish, Aubergine salad, stuffed veg, roast chicken, yoghurt dips and of course ustadza's favourite potato chips!
